Flat embedding molds are machined from PTFE Resin, for electron microscopy specimen embedding .These embedding molds are designed for use with methacrylate or acrylic resins like LR White,LR Gold, Lowicryl K4M, GMA or others.
The size of the cavities 00 and the dimensions: 14mm long, 6.0mm wide and 3 mm deep and 11 cavities are in the mold.
Can be used for both low temperature UV or thermal polymerization.
The cavities in the molds can be covered with two Thermanox® cover slips of 22x60mm size or a single strip of ALCAR® film, to ensure an anaerobic polymerization.
After the proper polymerization, each of the specimen blocks can be removed by flexing the mold, and the cured resin will easily removed. To restore flatness of the mold, simply slide it back into the provided metal frame.
PTFE molds are available in 3 sizes.

16 cavities with a dimensions of 14mm long, 4.8mm wide and 3mm deep
3 cavities with a dimensions of 37.6mm long, 13.8mm wide and 3mm deep.
ACLAR® Film provides an oxygen barrier when flat embedding specimens for electron microscopy and light microscopy. It separates easily from epoxy and is chemically inert.
ACLAR® is made from fluorinated-chlorinated resins. ACLAR® overcomes a number of problems regarding the processing of tissue culture cells, epoxy embedments, sectioning and observation because of its chemical inertness, non-stick property, glass clarity, flexibility and smooth surface.
It may be cut with scissors or blades and does not damage microtomy knives. It is unsurpassed in moisture barrier protection, transparent to UV and is plasticizer and stabilizer free. It is non-flammable, non-aging and has a low dielectric constant and dissipation.
ACLAR® can be sterilized. It is crystal clear, high UV transparency, ideal for use in UV curing of embedding resin in microscopy.

BEEM® Flat Embedding Mold is made of polyethylene. Critical surfaces are transparent permitting accurate specimen orientation. Produces 12 smooth flat polished blocks. Re-usable. Shipped in a plastic box.

Made of polyethylene. Has the same design as #300, but smaller.The produced block is 5.6mm outside diameter, and has a pyramid tip. Can be used in conjunction with the BEEM capsule holder Cat # 302A

Made of polyethylene, size 00 with Hemi-Hyperboloid tip. Very useful embedding capsules for elongated tissue orientation. This capsules produce a 7.9mm outside diameter block with a hemi-hyperboloid tip.
Conical tip embedding capsules, Size 00, made of polyethylene, comes with hinged cap. The capsules are also good for centrifuging precipitated matters.
This capsule holder has 22 cavities and holds capsules in an upright position during resin filling, and polymerization. It can be illuminated from the bottom for easy specimen orientation.

This grade can also be autoclaved. There are two tip designs to choose from to produce blocks: truncated cone or truncated pyramid. Truncated cone ends in a 1.4mm diameter flat. A truncated pyramid has a 1mm square end a full flat end.
